The slow Mo part doesn't work on my update.. Anyone have any ideas why it's not showing up? (all the other updates are there)

I love FCPX. It's my fav editor, but I find I'm using Resolve more these days just because it has features like Rotoscoping and Audio Transcription editing built in and I don't have to pay a crazy amount of money for all these FCPX plugins.

I have to say this channel is amazing and REFRESHING. I was feeling discouraged with still using FCPX because it is dying in the editing industry and everyone is converting to Davinci. I ve tried Davinci but im comfortable with FCPX and have already paid for so many plugins I dont want to loose my money invested in them. But to see you are using FCPX in a professional way feels refreshing to know and I feel little more motivated now. Can you discuss more about using FInal cut in a professional field, how clients love the outcome and how you are still getting work and clients by still using Final Cut. Are you planning to stay with Final Cut with all the buzz and hype of Davinci Resolve?

Thanks for the Tutorial, I was a fan of buying Motionvfx, but I stopped being so when they switched to their Subscription system. I think that what FX Factory offers is much more reasonable in terms of price and what it offers as a product.

Had some ok results, but I'm having issues with the plugin clogging up RAM memory (up to 48gb ram) I'm on a M3 Macbook. Anyone else has this?

Hi, the 10.8 update has some bugs. Gets stuck using masks. It also stops with «Transform», «Crop» and «Distort» as soon as they start to be used. I found out where the problem comes from. They probably didn't test this update in this situation: The problem in the masks ("Transform", "Crop" and "Distort") which crash the program arises if the three-finger dragging function is enabled in the trackpad settings (Accessibility - pointer control - trackpad options - use dragging - three-finger drag). By deactivating the "use trackpad for dragging" option, the problem with these three masks is resolved. As regards the «Sample color» mask of the «Green screen Keyer» effect, some small problems remain. That is, it is a bit slow in action. Macbook pro M1 Max, 32 GB ram

Jenn, you are fantastic at presenting this info!

I like the Enhanced Light and Color feature, but I think there should at least be the option for the adjustments to adapt if the lighting conditions change within the clip. As it is, it’s apparently just calculating some sort of average correction and applying it to the whole clip. Of course I could break the clip where lighting conditions change, but it’d be nifty if it would optimize fluidly as the clip progresses.

The 'draw mask' feature doesn't work since the 10.8 update. If i select the area with the pen tool, the Final Cut will stop working and won't be able to use any of the features. It works if you press and touch it instead of clicking with a touch on the trackpad, but it's still very slow. Does anyone know a workaround?

Installed 10.8 on my Macbook M1 Pro and M2 Macbook Air. Tried to work with files from the Blackmagic Camera app for iPhone - doesn't work, FCP freezes. (??)

Before the update if I double klicked on a color correction in the video inspector it jumped directly into the effect. Now after the update it always wants me to rename the color correction/effect. Does anybody know how I can change this double klick setting?

I know this is a somewhat old video, but instead of using the scaling and position to zoom into something, the transition is actually a lot more smooth if you use the cropping with Shift + C and keyframing that instead.

Video idea: I don’t know if it’s only me, but I’m sure a lot of amateur RUclipsrs would like to make logos, watermarks, like and subscribe animations, intro and outro transitions WITHOUT buying and learning Motion, so maybe some simple Pixelmator direct to FCP ideas would be cool, if you haven’t done that already. You could do a with Motion option and without Motion option? Anyway, thanks for the video. Very helpful and well done. Quick pace without losing me.
